- Definition
Vitamin E is a form of alpha tocopherol (C₂₉H₅₀O₂). It includes the following: RRR- or all-rac-alpha tocopherol (C₂₉H₅₀O₂), RRR- or all-rac-alpha tocopheryl acetate (C₃₁H₅₂O₃), and RRR- or all-rac-alpha tocopheryl acid succinate (C₃₃H₅₄O₅). It contains not less than 96.0% and not more than 102.0% of C₂₉H₅₀O₂, C₃₁H₅₂O₃, or C₃₃H₅₄O₅.

- Labelling Information
Label Vitamin E to indicate the chemical form and to indicate whether it is the RRR or the all-rac form. The Vitamin E activity may be expressed in mg/g, or, in terms of the equivalent amount of RRR-alpha tocopherol, in mg/g, based on the following relationship between the former USP Units (equal to the former International Units) and mass.1
