    Echinacea angustifolia consists of the dried rhizome and roots of Echinacea angustifolia DC. (Fam. Asteraceae). It is harvested in the fall after one or more years of growth. It contains not less than 0.5% of total phenols, calculated on the dried basis as the sum of echinacoside (C₃₅H₄₆O₂₀), dicaffeoylquinic acid (C₂₅H₂₄O₁₂), and chlorogenic acid (C₁₆H₁₈O₉). It contains not less than 0.075% of dodecatetraenoic acid isobutylamides (C₁₆H₂₅NO) on the dried basis.
